A single piece of quartersawn hard maple is split and aligned to achieve a continuous grain wrap around all four tightly mitered corners, encouraging the holder to turn the box over, enjoying its smooth, hand-sanded tactility. The simple lift-off lid is hand painted with a traditional Telemark rosemaling flower blooming from the turned pull, also in hard maple. The box is finished in natural super-blonde shellac to showcase the wood’s warm natural tone.
Due to natural variations in grain pattern and brush strokes, no two boxes are exactly alike.
