An asymmetrical, hand-painted rosemaling design unites both lids of this two-compartment box, ideal for organizing frequently used desk items or treasured keepsakes.
To craft the box walls, a single piece of quartersawn hard maple is split and aligned to achieve a continuous grain wrap around all four tightly mitered corners. A divider is seemlessly routed into the box sides. The pair of lift-off lids are united with a traditional Telemark scroll form entwining turned pulls in hard maple or walnut. The box is finished in natural super-blonde shellac to showcase the wood’s natural tones.
Due to natural variations in grain pattern and brush strokes, no two boxes are exactly alike.
